Sherlock Violin Concert at Edinburgh World Heritage
Thursday 25th February 2010 at 7 pm
The 150th anniversary of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's birth was recently marked in Edinburgh with the creation of the 'Sherlock' concert violin, made from an elderly sycamore tree that stood in the garden of Liberton Bank House. This was Conan Doyle's childhood home and has recently been converted into Dunedin School by the Cockburn Conservation Trust.
The main aim in creating the 'Sherlock' is to support local and international children's and environmental charities with a number of concerts and one will take place in the office of Edinburgh World Heritage at 5 Charlotte Square on Thursday 25th February at 7pm. Feargus Hetherington, accompanied by William Pickvance on piano, will perform the following programme:
Fritz Kreisler (1875-1962)
Praeludium and Allegro
J S Bach (1685-1750)
