The EAA aims to provide a series of events to stimulate thought and discussion in the architectural community.

Regular events throughout the year are part of your members service, great networking opportunity in a relaxed environment, and of course, inspiring and educational content of the event itself. These events take a variety of formats, from lectures, workshops, to building visits.

All events are accredited for CPD points, we do not issue certificates, but your registration and attendance will be kept on record for any verification requirements.


Having organised events for almost 6 years, I have seen the programme grow from a few CPDs a year to what it is today - Why? Because of your support and comments.

There was a call for “benefits”, to add value to the membership, and to provide worthwhile events (of the suggested variety) at a reasonable price. I have volunteered my time and efforts to do this, in the hope to answer this call.

Lately, the EAA Council was discussing methods of connecting those from academic background, students or lecturers alike, with those who are in the industry. EAA Events offer one of the routes to which the two can come together. We are offering, on first come first served basis, a number of tickets (depending on size of event) free to members of the universities.

A very recent request is that the events are a great networking opportunity and that we should have a delegate list available to those who attend. As the attendance list is often not confirmed until very close to the event, we thought it best to make this available on the website on the day of the event. It would also be a more sustainable method of distributing information than paper copies.

I hope to update this section regularly to bring you the latest news.

As of 2018 the EAA Events calendar is a mix of short technical events which will start at 6pm, longer speaker events starting at 4.30pm and lunchtime building visits at 1pm. Full details of the events and the venues can be found on our EAA Events Programme

Events are advertised on our website, social media and by email. If you wish to receive notification of our events and news please email to be added to our mailing list.

Events are booked through Eventbrite. Email confirmation and tickets will be sent to all members for event bookings. Reminders will be sent before the event. Non-members are welcome to get in touch.

Normal charges are:

  • £10 - £20 RIAS/RIBA Members
  • £15 - £30 Non-Members
  • £0 - £10 Students (Free student places are available for selected events)
  • £5 - £10 Concessions

Cancellations notified to EAA before the event can opt either to name a substitute attendee or to be credited the entry fee against a future event. There will be no refunds for non-attendance. If the EAA has to cancel an event paid bookings will be offered the option of a full refund or a free place at a future event.
