I am a chartered architect based in Dunfermline with more than 25 years
experience working in private practice. I trained in Dundee before moving to London. I returned to Scotland to set up my own practice in 2007.
I can offer professional advice on the design and construction of small to medium scale projects or in collaboration with others tackle larger projects for private individuals, institutional or developer clients at competitive rates.
My design influences are ever evolving but I try not to be overly influenced by style or fashion trends preferring to concentrate on pragmatic solutions
that are fit for purpose. My work by desire however is contemporary, responding to context and place with a preference to use local materials and passive solutions in a sustainable way but always open to technological intervention where appropriate. This does not preclude me from responding to the demands of a more traditional approach, for example, in conservation areas or in the case of work to listed buildings. | | | Charles Borthwick Chartered Architect
